The Racing Pulses

May 29 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Recognized by fans worldwide and media authorities such as Alternative Press, Paste Music & Daytrotter, and AllMusic, The Racing Pulses have been filling festival grounds and venues since 2012 with their catchy and intelligent rock music. A well-received EP in 2014 and news of electrifying performances rapidly lead to interest from prominent venues and festivals across the United States, including Maxwell’s in New Jersey and Summerfest, the largest music festival in the world. In 2017, The Racing Pulses released their debut album, Nothing to Write Home About, to popular and critical acclaim. It made an impact across North America, peaking at #15 on Billboard’s Heatseekers chart, #43 on the Independent albums chart, and #1 on the East North Central chart. Sirius XM’s Underground Garage took notice, with legendary musician and radio host Genya Ravan including the album’s opening track “King or Pawn?” on her program.

The summer of 2018 brought international exposure as a two-month tour in Bulgaria captivated the media. Major television network bTV invited The Racing Pulses to appear on hit daytime talk show “Преди обед” (Before Noon), where an interview and the live television debut performance of “Bookends” took place on July 13th. Fanfare continued into September, with a four-page spread on The Racing Pulses appearing in the print edition of OK! Magazine Bulgaria. Many newspapers and online media sources including TRUD, Kambana, and Region, profiled the band. Highlights of the tour included a Sofar Sounds session in capital city Sofia, a concert at the Varna Sea Garden, and a performance in front of hundreds, including dignitaries, at the 125th Jubilee of Pirdop by the 6th – century Elenska Basilica. Returning to the USA in the fall, The Racing Pulses continued touring and working on new music. Frontman Kristian Iliev also announced his first book, a collection of poetry, was scheduled for release. Glyphs from the Apparatus arrived in December through publishing house Stiks & Monida.

In late April of 2019, The Racing Pulses shared a new single. The track – “Go, Forward!” – was written for Wisconsin’s new professional soccer team, Forward Madison FC. The following month, the group performed at Brat Fest and at the historic Breese Stevens Field before a Forward Madison FC game against South Georgia Tormenta FC.

“The Racing Pulses may be new to the Madison scene, but the alt rock trio is already making some noise nationally. The group’s debut album, Nothing to Write Home About, hit the Billboard regional Heatseekers chart in June, and in July landed on the independent albums sales chart. Oh, and they also took the title of favorite rock band.”  – Isthmus

“The Racing Pulses make garage rock music that is very groove-able.” – Paste Music & Daytrotter

“I expect that The Racing Pulses will start showing up in all kinds of places, as there’s something undeniably appealing about their sound.”  – Izzy Scheyd, MusicBlogged.com

“Simply put, Nothing to Write Home About is a fun, vibrant and honest album that acts as an excellent soundtrack to carefree living.”   – The Daily Cardinal
